Aaron Russell, aged about 70 years of Linden passed away Thursday morning at his home, following an illness brought about by an injury he sustained several weeks ago while working at the factory site north of Linden. He is survived by a widow and three daughters.

Know all men that I, Aaron H. Russell, was born Oct. 15, 1840, in Wilkes County, North Carolina, and moved with my parents to Knox County, Tennessee, in 1856, and remained with them until 1862. The War of the Rebellion going on and, being on the Union side, I had to leave my state and (going in the night for fear of being forced into the Rebel Army) go to Kentucky, where I volunteered in Co. A, 3d Tenn. Inf., and was in 16 regular engagements and came out without a scratch, but was stunned by the explosion of a shell from a Rebel gun at the battle of Pumkinvine, and was mustered out of service by reason of the war being over. In 1867 I was married to Margaret A. Cook and to this union three daughters were born. I lived in Roan County, Tennessee three years and moved with my family to Clinton County, Ky., and in 1875 moved my family to Johnson County, Indiana, and then to Hamilton County in 1884. I was there one year and moved to Clark’s Hill in 1885. I was there one year, when we moved to Linden, Ind.
